Sixty-Sixth Collection
While waiting to board the flight, I was secretly praying that it would rain because I wanted to recreate one of my pictures for iPhone awards and even as I was walking towards the plane, I was still hoping…
Would you believe me if I told you that in less than 5mins after settling down, I looked out the window and spotted a tiny raindrop? One after the other, then another and another. And this rain stopped before the flight took off.
It felt like as though God was saying: Take as many pictures as you want. I’ll stop the rain once you're done.
No matter how big or small, an answered prayer is still an answered prayer and this award is like an icing on the cake.

Verona, the ancient Scaliger Walls that surround the city. A stone's throw from the center, as the night approaches
More beautiful bright tones on the Italian coast. A particular pallet for the area. You are advised to stay within the guidelines with your painting preferences.
Early evening walk at the trail at the valley and the Yosemite waterfall and kids with flashlights looking for frogs.
The Marshall Point Lighthouse gave me some wonderful leading lines. I really loved how the shadows made the white railings pop!!
The inside of the Calgary Central Library which opened in 2018. It was designed by American-Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and has won numerous awards for its design. It is currently one of the most photographed locations in Calgary .
My husband and I were sat at a red stop light beside the Old City Hall, Victoria, British Columbia and across the street was this wonderful reflection in the window of the modern building. I love the juxtaposition of the old and new in this capture.
A curving country road, a row of budding lilacs, misty morning fog and an old fashioned street light set the scene for my capturing this dark and moody image.
Rain poured all afternoon and into the evening on New Year’s Eve in New York City. These jewel-like blue tones wrapped in dense fog were too beautiful not to stop, look up and capture.
Airport business
The day I travelled from Switzerland to my family in the Netherlands, the airport was full of people checking in and staff members, who packed the luggage into the airplanes.
I love watching the business on the airport, wondering where the plane is flying to. I feel this thrill every time when I travel by plane from A to B. Are the other passengers as excited as I am when boarding the plane?
All the different lines on the ground leading the pilotes into the right direction ready to take off and bring all their passengers on their destination for holidays, business or back to their families.
In my neighborhood there are a lot of small lanes between the greenhouses with flowers and vegetables. During my cycling trip I noticed this point, the mill, the ditch and the greenhouses.
A wonderful excursion to the Cinque Terre last fall with Sif during her famous Sisterhood Retreats. Exploring the only residential National Park in Italy!
Reggie’s Day Out!
A portrait of Reggie the golden retriever popping his head out of the window of a car!
Ponte Pietra, in the wonderful Roman bridge of Verona, at the foot of the Roman Theater. When the night comes...
Sometimes you are gifted with a moment when the sky and sea are joined in a moment of infinity
“Infinity Views” -2023
Lines, lines, everywhere lines. A colour combo I wouldn’t have thought of but it drew me into focus on the detail. Found in a secluded village in the Italian mountains.
The Golden Gate at dusk, arrived late due to unexpected heavy traffic, nonetheless it’s still awesome, and loving the light reflection on the bay.
"Climb Mountains, not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world" - David McCullough Jr.
This was taken during a hike along the Burstall Pass Trail in Kananaskis, Alberta. It was a tough 13 hour hike with over 480 meters gain in elevation, but WOW the views at the top were so worth it!
“A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.” – Moslih Eddin Saadi
Dublin Airport, Ireland
Spending winter on the Gulf of Mexico provides opportunities for sunsets over the ocean. This particular evening, the whole sky turned orange and reflected in the water and lit up the sand, turning it to gold in front of me. I bent down as low as I could without getting the phone cameras wet to get this shot.
🛟 Lifeboat #9 is one of many from the S.S. Keewatin which sailed the Great Lakes until 1965. Built 1907, Keewatin will be moved from Port McNicholl to the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes in Kingston, Ontario by early fall 2023.
🛟 Year round I enjoy capturing the history represented by the last Edwardian-era Steamliner in existence.
It was a misty New Year’s Eve morning in New York City and steam came from every manhole. These were just two of the thousand of officers who kept Manhattan safe in anticipation of the ball drop that evening.
Sunset - Sky on fire
Me, myself and I as well as probably many other people all over Switzerland or even around Europe have witnessed this very special sunset. The colours were so intense and I hardly couldn't stop watching and stunning. I felt very fortunate that I realized that I had to take this picture right at that moment.
