The deconsecrated Church of Santa Chiara in Murano, restored and reopened to the public in 2016, is undoubtedly worth visiting. For the splendid restoration, for the furnishings, the glass and the demonstrations of glass art.
Piazza San Marco, Venice. The Procuratie Vecchie, built for the first time in the 12th century and then rebuilt also apparently with the contribution of the architect Jacopo Sansovino in 1538, were for years the headquarters of the Assicurazioni Generali offices. In 2017 the restoration works began under the direction of the star architect David Chipperfield, works completed in April 2022. Since then, after 500 years, they are finally open to the public. On the third floor is the headquarters of the Generali The Human Safety Net ONLUS Foundation. And that's where I took the photo, an unprecedented point of view on Piazza San Marco and the Florian café.
Casa Museo Palazzo Maffei, Verona, Piazza delle Erbe, is a splendid art collection that is the result of over fifty years of collecting passion of the entrepreneur Luigi Carlon. For some time now the splendid terrace has also been visited, with its statues and a priceless view of Piazza delle Erbe.
The establishment of the provianda di Santa Marta or more simply provianda di Santa Marta is an Austrian barracks built between 1863 and 1865, when Verona was under Austrian rule. Originally it was intended for the production of bread and biscuits, for the storage and administration of other subsistence items, but starting from 2015, after the restorations, it houses the economics departments of the University of Verona.
The Scuola Grande di Santa Maria della Misericordia was a school (brotherhood) of Battuti di Venezia active from 1308 to 1806. After having also been the seat of sports clubs and even a sports hall, it has rediscovered its wonderful function as a container, often for related exhibitions at the Venice Biennale.
A stone's throw from the center of Verona, in the former convent of San Francesco al Corso, in addition to the splendid "Cavalcaselle" Fresco Museum, there is a crypt with an uncovered sarcophagus in red Verona marble which according to tradition housed the mortal remains of the young Juliet Capulet. In reality it is all a staging, the sarcophagus is an old trough and certainly not the tomb of the Shakespearean heroine. But it doesn't matter: the place is well organized and entering it is exciting.
The "Provianda di Santa Marta", Verona, Veronetta district, is an Austrian barracks built between 1863 and 1865. More than a real barracks, it was a gigantic oven that produced bread and biscuits for the numerous Austrian garrison which at the time occupied Verona with 100,000 soldiers. After a long and beautiful restoration, today it houses some departments of the University of Verona.
From the 16th century, what used to be the production space for dyeing wool became the garden of the villa that the Giusti family had built in the Veronetta district of Verona. Always cared for, it has maintained its original charm. In the photo, the entrance door seen from the courtyard of the Palazzo.

At the end of the day, at the setting sun when all is quiet, it is time for peace and reflection. Here in Canada, with so many lakes, the canoe is still the favourite choice on the water.
Driving around the countryside in late summer, a field full of hay bales is always a delight. It represents successful harvest and healthy stock for the winter months.
Surveying her domain as the sun sets in the Western sky, and resting peacefully after a playful day. Her trusting demeanour speaks to the love and devotion she has to her home and loved ones.
This avenue of trees is my favourite part of my daily walk, the huge branches provide shade from the summer sun. I loved how the mist on this occasion provided an additional atmosphere of mystique.
This is a park close to where I live and it parallels the northern shore of Lake Ontario. This Autumn, the colours of the Canadian Maples have been exquisite. I love how this image displays the kaleidoscope of colours of the trees and the blue of the lake. The bench provides a resting place to sit and absorb the beauty all around.

During the recent snow storm I watched as the howling wind blew the freshly fallen snow off the rooves and swirled around in the air, giving it a second life to what we call a whiteout!

Walking the streets of Port Hope, Ontario Canada in very bright sunlight. The windows of this corner cafe provided a spectacular and colourful reflection of the period buildings in this old Ontario town.
Winter in Florida provides a unique perspective and this is the Wolf moon in January 2023, the first full moon of the year. I loved how it reflected in the shallows of the water as the sun set behind me, providing the soft colours in the trees and sky.

A century old church in Amsterdam that took a whole year to build with its detailed high ceiling beams and a solid brick walls withstanding the world war.
Amsterdam’s dancing lady houses and a dancing ladies sculpture art work located by the river fronting a museum and a river boat ride.
This river side buildings are most known as the dancing lady buildings, they are seen on popular photos in travel magazines, souvenir products and post cards.
I guess, I don’t have to describe this. It’s Hollands famous windmill, taken on a very strange scattered rain showers, like every 5-10 minutes.
Strolling through the Bruges community and came across this irresistible site, though it was cloudy and dark the shot was still amazing.
This morning hike shot at the base of the Multnomah water fall in Oregon was stunning specially when there are still no tourists around.
A view of the sunset while a boat passes through in the a marina in Lisbon, Portugal. Unfortunately the sun was covered by the clouds, nonetheless is stunning.

The beautiful nature of Bohinjsko Jezero, Slovenia. On our way to the waterfall, we were sitting on a wooden bench and enjoyed this fantastic view.
‘Look up’ <br /> <br /> I joined a photowalk for mobilephotography, we walked along a lovely part of Rotterdam ‘de oude haven’ (the old harbor)<br /> These are the yellow cubehouses in Rotterdam, there is just one point, when you stand exactly in the midddle, you see the star above you.
I live in an area with loads of greenhouses, for many kinds of flowers and vegetables. On a certain way they always attract me. I liked this one, because all the windows are wide open, that gives a completely different effect.
On my way to work I saw this incredible sunrise. I just had to pull over my car to capture this view with its three mills in a little frozen landscape.

On my Amsterdam walk I saw this house. It’s build with a very sharp corner, at the right point it seems almost flat.

In my neighborhood there are a lot of small lanes between the greenhouses with flowers and vegetables. During my cycling trip I noticed this point, the mill, the ditch and the greenhouses.

Sunflowers are my happy flower…I can’t help but smile when I see one. And to capture it with the sunrise as well just made me giddy.
My family was on a rafting trip at the end of summer and this guy decided to catch a ride with us down the River. He didn’t seem bothered that I was right in his face with my camera capturing this photo.
The Three Graces-Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia - are the daughters of Zeus and are the ancients who embody beauty, joy, and harmony. The statue was on display at the Vatican Museums and I loved the reflection caught in the doorway glass.
This is my dad’s restored 1933 Chev Pickup. We had it out for a drive and while going across a bridge I asked him to stop so I could capture it with the fall landscape behind. I love how the fall colors made the green of the truck really pop!
The beautiful windmills at the Dutch town of Zaanse Schans. I fell in love with this wonderful place for the simplicity of the town, and that the whole place smelled of chocolate thanks to a nearby chocolate factory! Can’t wait to return one day.
There’s something about old stone buildings that is so magnificent to photograph. The colours of the stones, the textures, the history. Who lived here once and what was their life like? If only the camera could go back in time to reveal the answers.
The golden glow of the fire inside the teepee was so warm and inviting…both from the inside and outside .
"Climb Mountains, not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world" - David McCullough Jr. <br /> This was taken during a hike along the Burstall Pass Trail in Kananaskis, Alberta. It was a tough 13 hour hike with over 480 meters gain in elevation, but WOW the views at the top were so worth it!
The inside of the Calgary Central Library which opened in 2018. It was designed by American-Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and has won numerous awards for its design. It is currently one of the most photographed locations in Calgary .

This photo was all about natural lighting and layers of yellow. I wanted something unexpected in the coffee cup, so I found a small sunflower that worked well. The flat lay perspective is much harder than it seems. I finished the look with a bit of fine tuning in Snapseed.
I was drawn to the beautiful bright autumnal leaves when I noticed that this made wonderful frame for the nearby home! This marvelous place is in Mount Desert Island, Maine, USA. Slight edits were made with Snapseed.
This was the magnificent view from the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory in Maine, US. My vantage point of looking down on the bridge gave it a unique leading line into the horizon. I also loved the shadows in the water that hints of the actual construction of the bridge.
A beautiful lightscape highlighted an old oak tree at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. I thought it gave the tree an otherworldly look.
The view from an urban precipice. It is always thrilling to ride on a glass elevator. This was the disorienting view from one of the upper floors looking down.
My father was a wonderful artist. I did not inherit any of his talent. In this photo, I wanted to try and capture the feel of an artist making their first stroke with the paintbrush.
Simple colorful cups and saucers were used with some dramatic lighting to achieve this photo.
The Marshall Point Lighthouse gave me some wonderful leading lines. I really loved how the shadows made the white railings pop!!
Tenants Harbor, Maine, USA. This is a dramatic, black and white, low point of view, showing the wonderful Marshal Point Light Station.
It was one of those moments that just clicked. I was cutting the banana for my breakfast. I noticed that the banana and knife handle matched and thought it would be a great photo. So I grabbed some black poster board as a background, moved the set up near a door, set up the shot, and opened the door for lighting. Oh, and then I ate the banana.

The light was too much to ignore on these locally produced organic eggs. Capturing the last rays of summer at a recent retreat. <br /> <br /> The formation is also pleasing to the eye.
Cinque Terre - the five villages on this beautiful part of the Italian coast. <br /> <br /> So much history, a colour palate to swoon over and a cacophony of leading lines sending your eyes everywhere to soak it all in.
Midday shadows cast over the MET in New York City. I love wandering around the city and getting in lost in the skyline. There are always lines and shapes to capture my attention.
Walk, walk, walk and walk some more. That’s the best way to see NYC. With no agenda, I just wandered and allowed my eyes to roam taking in all the myriad of architecture on offer. So many pleasing and quirky buildings to capture.

Scenes overlooking the Solent. Contemplative and mood inducing. The patches of light were the draw in this image with the scene providing that classic rule of thirds.
Lines, lines, everywhere lines. A colour combo I wouldn’t have thought of but it drew me into focus on the detail. Found in a secluded village in the Italian mountains.
More beautiful bright tones on the Italian coast. A particular pallet for the area. You are advised to stay within the guidelines with your painting preferences.
