For me Dubai is ultimately wild, untamed & fascinating. My story is about standing on the edge with no one around, whilst the simplicity of wind turbines & making this dry continent my island home. The amazing architecture & the skyscrapers makes this city so different from the others that I have seen & adds a lot of character to the frame.
This picture was very random when I was traveling in a cab in New York. The water droplets on the window and snow outside on the streets looked quite soothing to my eyes. It’s just that moment I wanted to capture and I can still feel that chill in the air when I look at this picture.
This was shot from the 42nd level of Shangrila Hotel Dubai at Sheikh Zayed Road. The sunset right behind the Burj Khalifa adds depth to the picture and beautiful lightings of the city make it look so electrifying.
This was shot at Al Jaddaf waterfront. The Dubai skyline looked amazing while the heavy fluffy clouds and sunset made it look picture perfect. It was a moment worth capturing and my iPhone was always handy.

As I climbed the 42nd level of Shangrila Hotel Dubai to watch the Sunrise. The Sun behind the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa made the city looked so mesmerizing & the view of Sheikh Zayed Road couldn’t get any better. The beautiful architecture of the skyscrapers was awakening & making it a perfect setting for what is called a “ Metropolis ”.
The atmosphere that I want to invoke in this picture is exactly the same as that which I have experienced while being in this surrounding, speechless by the beauty of the natural world.
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque at Abu Dhabi is a Photographer’s Paradise & it even looks more beautiful at the night. The reflection of the its arches & coulumns on the water & marble makes it look more prettier. The sight was just magical & giving a sense of calmness to the mind.
In capturing this beautiful shot, I focus on the feelings each seagull evokes! This daylight reflections encompass hopes & dreams.

This was taken early morning sunrise time when I had gone for a drive to the Royal Meydan Bridge in Dubai. I was really mesmerized by the beauty of the bridge and the running blue LED lights like the shape of a caterpillar. The sun was coming out from the Race Course behind it and the orange backdrop complimented the architecture of the bridge and it looked like a space world.
This was shot from the rooftop bar of Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Just after the sunset, the entire city was glowing and the view was breathtaking from the 43rd Level of the hotel. The beautiful architectures of Dubai and the skyscrapers make the photo larger than life and I just couldn't resist capturing it. It signifies the dream and vision behind this city.
This was shot from the Tolerance Bridge at the Dubai Water Canal. The sunrise colors right behind the Burj Khalifa looked like that someone has painted the sky with different shades of colors. The moment I saw this masterpiece I knew this is the moment.
This was shot from the walking crossover bridge at the Dubai Water Canal. It was at the beginning of the sunrise and the Sky colors were so amazing and even the reflections in the water complimented the whole picture in totality. This was a moment unmatched and full of depth too.
This mesmerizing view was shot outside one of the horse stables near Meydan race course road in Dubai. The perfect sunrise along with the blend of palm trees make the picture very intoxicating. For a moment I felt that I am in Florida. It was a moment of "Deja-Vu".

We watched this green sea turtle pull himself out of the Pacific and rest on the warm sand to take a nap and bask in the warmth of the afternoon sun. This beach is a popular spot for turtle watching and we are grateful to the NOAA volunteers that help protect this endangered species and remind people to keep their distance.
This shot was captured on the return leg of a nearby hiking trail. I was racing the sun so I could finish the trail before dark. I rounded a corner and saw the sun peeking through the trees and had to stop and enjoy the moment. There were no other hikers on the trail that day. It was tranquil. Needless to say, I did not make it down before the sun.
We were walking through the newly remodeled International Marketplace in Waikiki. We stopped to watch people scurry from one shop to the next buying items that they would struggle to fit in their luggage for the trips home. This fixture caught my eye and I walked out and dropped to one knee aiming my iPhone skyward. A few people stopped to see what I was looking at that was picture worthy and quickly moved on. So many people were missing the beauty that was right above them.
We pulled over to get this shot in the early spring. The colors were changing rapidly in the sky and it was the time of year that the sun plummets to the earth during shorter days. The Illinois River was calm and glassy reflecting back the vibrant colors at the sky. Shortly after I got the shot, little waves came lapping at the shore as a barge was being pushed north up the river towards Chicago.
Although this looks like it was taken at sunset, it was taken on the beach at night while facing Waikiki. The radiating lights created the orange and yellow glow. The moon is also making an appearance in the shot.
We got to watch the sunrise before a high school paddling event that my daughter was competing in. The water was quiet and calm, and the view serene before the race began.
This light fixture caught my eye and it took several minutes of shooting to make sure I didn’t get any reflections from the surrounding windows or beams from the unfinished ceiling.
The sunsets seem to be even more amazing when there is stormy weather. I love the way the clouds blanket the sky with so many colors.
I love architecture. When I saw this church lit up at night, I had to stop to take a few shots. This was one of my favorites from that night.
The rain let up long enough for the blue sky to peek through for this shot. We were driving the Road to Hana on Maui and stopped at this waterfall, the Three Bears. Unfortunately, I was only able to capture the last of the three falls.

In Puglia (Italy) on the Gargano, there are still the “trabucchi”, very old fishing tools. Symbol of the Gargano coastal civilization, the “trabucchi” were born for the need to face the treacherous sea keeping the feet well planted on the ground. ...And sometimes you almost manage to get all of your ducks in a row! <br /> <br /> Long Island New York is beautiful in the fall, it is famous for the ducks! So many towns have their own duck pond where residents come to relax and enjoy the tranquility.
The Summer had come to an end. Even the seagulls were preparing to fly south for Winter. I got lucky to capture such a freeing moment on what was such a gloomy day.
There is nothing like the breathtaking cityscape views of Manhattan ! This time I got to experience it from a different vantage point for the first time in my life. High up! Took a ride on the Roosevelt Island Tram that takes visitors and commuters across the East River daily to capture this spectacular sight!
When not out and about in the hustle and bustle of the big city, you can be sure to find me nestled in the other joys of living on this coast. At the beach! No matter the weather, it’s always a beach day! Sunrise to sunset, it’s one of my most favorite sites to photograph - you never know what you’re going to get!
There are not many places as breathtaking as the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy. The colors, the people, the culture, the food... this was one place that was very hard to leave!
Capri, another jewel off the Southern Amalfi coast. Come for the day by boat and revel in the luxurious shops, beaches and food!
A simple family stroll along the New York City's Hudson River more often than not will always lend itself to a beautiful winter colored sunset.
I had been lucky enough to have the opportunity to spend some time teaching in Thailand. Seeing how grateful these children were for education, so willing and dedicated to learning that they did not even care that they did not have the resources such as desks and chairs was truly heartwarming.
The Miami skyline, another one of my favorite cityscapes. Even better when captured at during Golden Hour. Miami brings both favorites to life. The serenity of beach and ocean life, as well as a gorgeous city backdrop. Two beauties in one!
Travel photography is one of my favorite things. While traveling it is always great, to capture a sunrise. The serenity, the stillness, the beauty. It is a great way to start the day, as well as a perfect way to capture something so beautiful in nature.

Victoria, British Columbia inner harbour. This is normally a pretty place, but I think grey fog and muted lights made it spectacular.
One of my favourite spots on the planet, Clover Point, just off Dallas Road in Victoria, BC. The spot with its massive family of resident pigeons attracts tourists and locals alike, at all hours of the day. But timed with a beautiful ocean sunset, a visit becomes sublime.
This Enesco (Treasured Memories) “World War I Doughboy” was discovered at a flea market. The seller was asking a dollar. How could I pass him by? He found a new home on our windowsill in Victoria where we live by the ocean. We were nearing our Canadian “Remembrance Day” and I thought this sweet figurine would make a great photo. Because of the strong light coming from behind him off the ocean, he was falling into silhouette. So I grabbed a piece of the whiteboard and reflected the strong sunlight back onto him. As I did, I realized the window had become a mirror for both the whiteboard and his shadow. I loved it!
I live near one of the biggest malls in the world: West Edmonton Mall. I was walking the halls one day and espied this giant hoop (ring). I was entranced by the curves competing with the ceiling lines and, of course, the golden sheen. I looked at a straight-on shot, but it did nothing for me. I twisted and turned, tapped to find the correct exposure, and got this skewed shot. It felt right.
I cannot begin to say how blessed I am to live on the Salish Sea, where the Almighty blesses us with incredible sunsets. I was busily doing something else inside my apartment when a strong golden hue arose on the walls. I looked outside and gasped. James Bay has never looked prettier. I did nothing to saturate this color; this is REAL!
Having lost my ability to drag around a heavy DSLR camera, lenses, and tripods, I count my blessings that my iPhone 7Plus exists. Light and always in my hand, it allows me to indulge my “sight” and never miss a shot. This one begged to be taken. It is the Fisgard lighthouse at Fort Rodd Hill in Victoria, BC. The leading line of the path and the dramatic skies made this a magical shot for me.
Although I live up the highway in Victoria, spending time in this coastal village, Sidney, is always a treat. I never tire of this pretty view. I am standing on “Glass Beach” while taking this shot (so named due to an abundance of beach glass). The near-still reflections and the moody sky in the background begged an elimination of colour to intensify the moodiness of the scene.
Grabbing a window seat when flying over the Rockies westward to Vancouver Island is so rewarding. I love the contrast and textures in this image. Keeping the lens close to the window helped to avoid reflections.
Hawaii yields up flower photos everywhere. I was walking away from our hotel when I espied this hibiscus in full bloom tinted by late day warm light. The Portrait feature on the iPhone 7Plus neatly blurs the cluttered background.
Shot outside Honolulu, Hawaii along the Kalanianaole Highway, down from Makapu’u Point State Park. Well worth taking a drive. The weather cleared enough to brighten the water color to this gorgeous turquoise.

Un frio día de enero en el puerto de Navacerrada de Madrid, es una bonita experiencia, aparte de los deportes de nieve, poder pasear y disfrutar de paisajes y entornos helados con este bello manto blanco sobre la tierra.
La ciudad de Gáldar en las Palmas de Gran Canarias con su niebla agarrada a la pequeña montaña donde su arquitectura escala sobre sus laderas poco a poco<br /> Imagen realizada con cierta dificultad desde la ventanilla del copiloto, vehículo en marcha, al no poder parar por ser una de las carreteras principales de la isla y no esta permitida su parada.
Día de tormentas en las bonitas playas de un día de verano en Marina D´Or en Oropesa del Mar, la gente paseaba por los paseos habilitados a todo lo largo de la playa acompañados de sus paraguas para no perderse estos momentos y colores irrepetibles.
Colores otoñales del amanecer entre nieblas muy bajas en los campos de Madridejos en Toledo, espere que el sol hiciese su aparición en el horizonte para que quedase detrás del árbol para dar un toque especial a la imagen.
Una fría mañana de niebla en los campos de Castilla la Mancha en Madridejos, destacando el antiguo pozo con su abrevadero que servia para sacar agua y dar de beber a los rebaños.
Los cálidos colores del atardecer, a unos 40º en pleno mes de julio por tierras manchegas en Madridejos-Toledo, después de recoger el cereal, quedando solo el rastrojo y en el fondo como elemento principal en la imagen el árbol solitario.

It is a very curious place in the Canary Islands, specifically in La Garita de Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, the area is called La Garita Bufadero, and its attraction is to see the area of these buffers at high tide, see the water jump From the sea to these tremendous holes of volcanic lava, see are emptied and filled by the waves.

While I have always enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, the use of my iPhone camera opened a wonderful world of detail I'd not fully appreciated. It's landscapes that interest me...they simply are...no posing needed...they stand on their own as they wander through their seasons...each one gifting us with the very smallest of details. It's those seasons I've appreciated all the more...each one offering beauty, different from the next. It is these same seasons that remind us of our own passing time. These Quaking Aspens are in a stand directly behind a cabin we visit yearly in the Eastern Sierra, California...have watched them grow from nothing. Looking up through the bare limbs offers a view like no other..movement you'd not normally see. By processing in this manner, I felt the luxury of seeing the very smallest of thin branches, just before they burst into spring with new leaves.
Was finishing a business lunch...we were waiting for an elevator. I looked out the large glass window - this was the view. San Francisco corner of Market where Kearny and Geary meet. To your lower center, that's Lotta's Fountain, dedicated in 1875, was made famous by the 1906 Earthquake...a meeting place for survivors and supplied water to citizens. Said wow...what a beautiful intersection... the mix of people, buildings, activities, and history. How cool is that! Grabbed my iPhone - two...three snaps. I love that about iPhone Photography...snap life's moments on the go.
Passed a bouquet on a desk...these Peonies were just off the chart...reminded me of little coffee beans in their own little universe.
Sonoma, California Was a blistering hot day ...not a lick of wind...except in the sky overhead. I like lines and angles...and really enjoying all colors to be found within B&W. Learning as I roll along.
Healdsburg, California. Was a breezy Autumn morning walk in downtown Healdsburg. There is a very small park in the middle of the old town square - filled with huge trees - the leaves were just slowly cascading down onto the still damp grass. I look down more than I look up...saw this and just couldn't help but notice all those tiny little details and textures within one small leaf. Am into details...have been my entire life.
Silver Lake, Eastern Sierra, California. Our family has visited here for close to 25 years now - spring, summer, and fall...our kids grew up trout fishing on this naturally fed lake. Silver has a real personality and her mood changes with the blink of an eye. As the morning air/water temps change, a mist will blossom and slowly - quietly, flow across the lake and then, disappear just as quickly. Was an early May morning and we were eating in the Silver Lake Cafe - pancakes so light you gotta stab 'em with a fork to keep them from floating away. I looked out the window, saw the mist start to form...said I would be right back and walked over to shore where I saw someone had setup a chair for the morning bite...next to the fresh water flow...great fishing. This is an iPhone pano. Every time I look at this puts me right on the shore.
Silver Lake, Eastern Sierra, California. The month was May, snow still on the ground and cold, as we swung around June Lake Loop towards the historic cabins we've stayed at each year for the past 25...then kids in tow..now grown. Had been a hard winter and we were taken with the many Aspens lost...felled by the occasion avalanche that keeps the Loop closed during the winter months. Year before, these trees blocked any clear view as you continued your drive around. Not so now. They will be left where they fell as nature reclaims them..shoreline will adjust. While this appears as B&W, is actually color...it was that kind of a day and well worth a stop to see the new view. Silver Lake is always a beautiful lake, no matter what the weather.
Agoura Hills. We forget there were old roads across California...before the freeways went in. This area is very close to Thousand Oaks....driving through, you can imagine why/how it got its name...Oaks everywhere. The fires devastated this area of SoCal..these Oaks burned by the hundreds. With loads of rain this past fall and into the new year, much of the ground cover returned. This particular area is just off the 101 Freeway....long forgotten except to those of us who knew the area when horse and sheep ranching ran the valley. Several months after the fires, I took a ride over to see what had been spared. This lone Oak...on the side of an all but overgrown dirt road...had barely hung on. Sung and now deceased, no telling how much longer she will survive, the Oaks are known to possess a hundred lives along with hundreds of years of age. This hills looks out to Malibu Canyon and beyond...the cars wiz by...no one really notices the 'what was' as they hurry to 'what is'. iPhone pano - the B&W caught what I saw.
I fly often due to business and, I do swear, would climb up and over to get to a window seat for the very reasons captured in this photo. This was during an early evening climbout from OAK to BUR in SoCal. Into the left turn, just around 10,000ft, and down the coast, you leave San Francisco behind and glide out just to the Pacific coast before another slight left turn inland. I caught the sky between contrails and their reflection on the sea. Below is the world famous point, Mavericks, which is a surfing location in northern California outside Pillar Point Harbor, just north of the town of Half Moon Bay at the village of Princeton-by-the-Sea. After a strong winter storm in the northern Pacific Ocean, waves can routinely crest at over 8 m and top out at over 18 m. Many tries...very few can surf it. I've taken this exact route hundreds of times and never seen these conditions. This shot does not do justice to the entire sky landscape ...the lengthy contrails and shadows...best I could grab in the few seconds I had.
Old Frank Sam’s house on California's Eastern Sierra run of 395, just south of Lee Vining, CA and Mono Lake. Once part of a large ranch, Sam had two sister wives from the local Indian population, who were famous basket weavers. This house is considered one of the most photographed buildings on the 395 - everyone with their own take. Love that. What I don't like...for as long as this house has been left to its own demise, it has been left alone until recently...the once boarded up windows have had the wood removed and most all belongings have been ransacked. The hard winter of 2018-2019 took it's the toll of the roof and frame as well. Each drive up, we stop so I can grab just one more look before she begins to truly implode. It is with the respect that I always shoot from outside the barbed wire fence.

This trek was a life-changing experience and each shot was worth the visit ... this trek took around 2 hours and this was the spot we sat to relax and I saw this frame with this beautiful lake in between the trees. ‘PATH’WAY TO HEAVEN<br /> After a week shooting the hustle and bustle of smokey Havana in Cuba, I was more than ready to discover this pathway leading me to the golden sand which dipped into the turquoise, cool waters of the ocean below.
The torrential daily rain storm washed the dusty vintage car and the oily street. Leaving nothing but vibrant reflections on the ground below .
I shot this in Ibiza when I stopped for lunch at a beachside cafe. Glad to be in the shade I loved the reflections captured in my sunglasses of the shade net above.
Wonderful to visit an area I used to work in in the 1980s. Covent Garden, such a beautiful part of London, overflowing with style and creativity. Let’s hope telephone boxes get to stay in London as thy are such a part of our culture. <br /> <br />
