The Garderns by the Bay are stunning uring the day, but at night they show their full beauty. It was like walking on the set of the movie Avatar.

The mysteries of the beautiful night sky deeply inspire me and fill my soul with inner peace. And although, I may know nothing with any certainty, the sight of stars will always make me dream.

I’ve been taking pictures of this beautiful old barn in Central Illinois for the past 10 years. She is still hanging on, but showing her age. A storm had rolled through earlier that morning and left a trail of really cool clouds. I had some time to spare so I headed out to see what I could find. I ended up with a few good shots that day, this being one. She’s a great subject, and never disappoints. Sadly, there will come a day when she will no longer be standing. Until then, I’ll keep taking pictures of her!

This photo was taken during my annual ride with a few good friends. We study maps for months to find an ideal route through several states doing our best to avoid interstates at all costs. This was taken in southern Colorado on a beautiful July morning. I am grateful to see the beauty of areas that are often bypassed by the everyday traveler.
