This is my favourite walk along the waterfront of Lake Ontario and on this particular day, the clouds and sunshine brought a drama to the skies.

A snowy day in late March caught everyone by surprise but I could not hold my excitement when I saw my neighbours walking by in bright red coats, I just had to snap that!

The symmetry of the lights and reflections draws the eyes into the store… this worked really well in black & white.

With the warm winter this year, many Canada geese never left their homeland I love how they sleep at the water’s edge facing the sun…

A natural spectacle in the marina, the various birds, ducks and geese kept to their preferred base, seagulls on ice, geese and ducks in the water as if guarding their territory.

A very cold, very windy winter’s day provided the drama in Lake Ontario, the sky and in taking the photo while balancing on ice-covered steps!

Walking the streets of Toronto, Canada, I turned the corner and this was the sight. The light captured the older building in a way that framed the famous CN tower and this scene was framed by the tall modern buildings on either side of the street. A “Frame within a Frame”.

In December, we saw some beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The setting sun on the lake produced an orange glow that reflected beyond the sky into the water that was partly frozen and I felt at peace in this moment.

The city of Toronto morphs into a city of lights at night, buildings merge with each other, yet there is humanity living and working within them, providing a uniqueness to each glistening window frame. I wanted to capture the individuality within the masses.

The halls of this hotel provided perfect symmetry with its mirrors and lights and repeating architectural design.

The perfect alignment of the bar chairs provided a leading line to the ray of light from the windows. The barman posed silently yet with confidence and ownership of his pristine workplace. This scene captured a moment in time that was fleeting but memorable as the television commentator memorialized the Late Henry Kissinger.

I call this photo “Carpet of Gingko” in late fall and after a cold snap, the leaves dropped overnight from the trees causing a golden carpet of subtle colour and texture.

After the storm, the clouds literally rolled by with dramatic force and the heavy rains at dusk created interesting reflections of the urban house lights.

After strong fall winds, the colours of the maple leaves packed against the school fence called for a “go low” perspective.
